What is a Post Thumbnail?

A post thumbnail is a new feature in WordPress 2.9.

When creating/editing a page or post in this theme, look for a new box titled Post Thumbnail, it’s usually along the right side.

  1. Click Set Thumbnail
  2. The image upload screen will appear, upload a large image to use (1000px or so wide)
  3. When it moves onto the next screen, you do not need to edit any options, just click: Use as thumbnail
  4. Click Save all changes and then close the “Add an image” box using the X at the top right.

Tip: sometimes you will not see the “Use as thumbnail” option – be sure you have a post/page title and some content before trying to add the thumbnail image, just something I noticed.
