What is microstock?
Microstock is a name given to stock agencies that sell high quality files at affordable prices. As a microstock contributor, my photos, videos, illustrations, and flash files are available for sale worldwide through various agencies.
Most microstock agencies started out by selling photos but have since branched off and now sell video, vector / raster illustrations, and flash animations.
The files on these agencies are sold to subscribers around the world. Depending on their license, they can be used nearly anywhere but regularly appear in advertisements, books, television and on the web. Quality of the files is ensured by teams of reviewers that accept and deny submitted files.

Are you interested in becoming a Microstock model? It’s a great way to build up your portfolio quickly and your images can appear nationwide.
Model Releases
All people used in a photo where you can recognize their face must sign a model release before the file can be submitted. The model release stays with the agency the photo was submitted to and is not given out to the buyers. This ensures that all photos were taken with the model’s permission.
